  • Online Courses
Online courses are offered in subjects from astrology to economics to geography. There are no current full-time online degree programs. Online classes are a nice way to fit in a few extra credits in your schedule without having to make it to a weekly class. However, online classes do require a few hours of work every week and are not for everyone. Because there is no face time with a professor, sometimes managing to learn from text on a computer can be challenging. Professors are available through e-mail, though some are better than others about getting back to students.

  • 成功小贴士
    • Balance your time between relaxation, fun, and work.
    • Don't be afraid to go to an academic adviser. They are very helpful if you want to bounce around ideas about your major or just talk about what classes you should be taking.
    • Go to class. With some of the bigger lecture classes, it may seem easy to skip out of class once in a while, but you will get behind and regret it.
    • Meet with your professors outside of class. If you get to know them, your grades will reflect that. They are more than willing to help with essays or questions you may have.
    • Take advantage of the resources at UO. There are free tutors in almost every subject available.
    • Take more than the minimum amount of credits. It is not too overwhelming, and you will be more on track for a four-year graduation.
  • 你知道吗
    • Two University of Oregon graduates are Nobel Prize honorees, 10 are Pulitzer Prize winners, and 19 have been Rhodes Scholars.
    • There are more than 75 majors and 60 minors to choose from at the UO. There are 18 preparatory programs, as well, ranging from business to law to medicine to even something like forensic science.

  • Tips for Getting In
    • Apply early!
    • Be involved in high school.
    • Have at least at 3.0 GPA.
  • 在去学校之前应该知道的事情
    • Football Tickets â Getting free student tickets for the football games is harder than you'd think. If you are really into the games, getting season tickets would be a good idea.
    • Hippie Town USA â Eugene has been compared to a mix of Venice Beach and Berkeley in California. Overall, it's a pretty sleepy town that has a lot of school pride for UO. You will encounter a lot of liberal hippie-type people around town. It all adds to the culture of Eugene.
    • Mary Jane â Marijuana is clearly the most used drug at the UO. It is easy to come by and usually around. However, not everyone participates in smoking pot, and people are not looked down upon if they do not partake in the use of it.
    • Rain, Rain, Rain â It rains nearly nine months out of the year sometimes, which can make it seem gloomy. However, this is why this state is so beautiful and green. If you can't stand the rain, the UO is probably not for you. Then again, it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
  • 访谈与信息会话
UO Admissions offers information sessions at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Contact the admissions office at (541) 346-1000 or visit admissions.uoregon.edu for more information.

You are allowed to sit in on classes and observe, but you will need to contact the specific department directly to arrange this. Contact info for most departments can be found at admissions.uoregon.edu/deptcontact.html.
  • 校园旅行
Ninety-minute walking tours are offered Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m., and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. You can schedule a visit, along with an information session and/or campus tour, by checking out the admissions website at admissions.uoregon.edu.
  • 探视
If you are admitted and choose UO, you will have an overnight orientation session in which you stay in a dorm, but otherwise, UO's admissions office doesn't offer overnight visits. However, if you know a student on campus, you can always ask to stay overnight with him or her.

  • 找工作或者实习的建议
The UO offers a wide variety of internships for its students through the Career Center. Students can get paid or unpaid internships, and potentially receive academic credit for their work. Internships are available in almost every field, but you're probably going to have to search for them. Get to know the people in the Career Center. This is, by far, your best way to get involved in the system. You can get signed up to be on an internship email list, which will send you constant, updated emails about new internships that are available. The best thing that you can do is get an early startâthere are plenty out there, but they go fast. In terms of jobs on campus, most of them go to work-study folks, but looking around is a good idea. There are also always wait staff and barista openings off campus. Besides food service, other options might be at local banks, clothing stores, or malls.

The social scene at the University is open to everything from coffee shops to bars to the classroom itself. Students at the UO tend to be outgoing and approachable. House parties are big at UO because of the more lax and easy-going vibe of the student body. Once you turn 21, the bar scene is fun, too, but the house parties are always a good alternative.
  • 同盟或者恋爱关系
Oregon seems to go through phases when it comes to the dating scene. For one term, everyone will be involved in relationships; the next, the selection is as open as a buffet at Las Vegas. Serious relationships seem to be most prominent at UO, but hookups do occur (most often in the Greek system and the bar scene).
  • 与男生/女生碰面的最好的地方
For freshman, the dorms provide a great opportunity to live in close proximity to members of the opposite sex. Many dorm friendships have the opportunity to become something more. For the upperclassmen, the hot spots of Taylor's and Rennie's off campus never seem to fail for meeting members of the opposite sex. Outside of the classroom, coffeeshops also provide the chance for social interaction in a comfortable atmosphere. The University is swarming with nearly 20,000 students, so opportunities to meet your next boyfriend or girlfriend are never too far away.
  • 着装礼仪
Fashion at the University of Oregon ranges from students wearing business attire to people walking around without shoes. Whether you wear three-piece suits every day or dress like carefree hippie, you'll be accepted around Eugene. In terms of going out, the same applies. Some girls will wear jeans and a sweatshirt, while others will wear a nice dress and heels. However, the overall population does seem to dress more casually, especially due to the weather.

  • Taylor's Bar & Grille

Every student at the UO knows what Taylor's is, and they can easily point you in the right direction. Located across the street from campus, Taylor's has been around since the 1930s and is easily considered the hottest spot for college students. Although the Greek crowd can occasionally dominate the scene, Taylor's offers a sexy atmosphere with great music and even better drinks.

  • Oregon Electric Station

At the Oregon Electric Station you'll find much more than the college atmosphere in a toned-down setting. The drink menu is extensive, and the atmosphere is classy, but if you're looking for a hot night of dancing and debauchery, this isn't the place to be. For a first date or a more intimate place to drink, however, this is just where you want to go.

  • Rennie's Landing

The second-most notorious bar for students, located just off campus. Rennie's has survived through the decades in a constant civil war for attention with Taylor's. Rennie's offers a more spacious atmosphere, outdoor seating, and a more diverse crowd than that of a place like Taylor's. For a hot atmosphere and strong drinks, Rennie's is packed on the weekends.
