院校简介新南威尔士大学（英语：The University of New South Wales，简称UNSW，当地华人称纽修威大学），为澳大利亚八大名校（Group of Eight）所组成的高校成员，也是Universitas 21联盟的一员。位于澳大利亚新南威尔士州悉尼大都会；校总区设址于兰域市（Randwick）的肯辛顿区（Kensington)，距离悉尼市中心约5公里。UNSW共有8大学院，旗下另外2所学院－－艺术学院和澳洲国防学院分别位于悉尼近郊的派丁顿和首都堪培拉。2008年，UNSW共有39,470名学生、研究生人数达14,195名，是年有海外学生7,839名，分别来自130余国；共有6,000余名全职的教职员。2013年，新南威尔士大学在英国泰晤士报高等教育增刊的全球大学排名为第85位。QS的全球大学排名为第52位根据各项学术评鉴与科学研究排名显示，今天的新南威尔士大学是澳大利亚高科技和高等研究的先驱领导大学，也是澳大利亚理工菁英的所在地。

历史沿革

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) traces its origins to the Sydney Mechanics Institute, founded in 1843.
UNSW is a member of the "Group of Eight" (Go8), the leading Australian multidisciplinary research universities.
Originally a University of Technology, it changed its name to UNSW in 1958, with 1960 seeing the establishment of a Faculty of Arts.

体育

In 2007, the University of New South Wales Sports Association and UNSW Lifestyle Centre merged to become UNSW Sport and Recreation. It runs the UNSW Fitness and Aquatic Centre, provides health and fitness facilities and services and supports the thirty UNSW affiliated sporting clubs that compete both at home and abroad.

At the beginning of each term, International Students Housing Assistance provide practical help and support for new students.
It can help students find private accommodation in a Sydney suburb.
Students should budget at least £790 (AU$1,200) per month for all living costs, including accommodation.
University accommodation:
On campus: eight fully catered residential colleges, some male or female only.
The residential colleges each have their own admission and selection procedures and community.
They all provide cleaning and meals for students.
Off campus: six self-catered, shared apartments.
Self-catered accommodation ranges from single bedroom studios to eight room apartments.
