    • Keep up with your homework-procrastinating is the worst thing to do in college.
    • Pick classes that interest you.
    • Talk to upperclassmen about which professors to take and which ones to avoid.
  • 你知道吗
    • In January 2001, Black Enterprise ranked UNC-CH as number one among national public research universities (14th overall) as a top college or university for African Americans.
    • Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine noted UNC-CH as one of the "Best Value" schools for six consecutive years (2002-2007).

It is quite easy to meet people at UNC. It is up to you to interact with all the people that will be placed around you though. Granted, because UNC's gender ratio is tipped disproportionately to the women, it is slightly easier for men to date and interact with women. However, because there are so many schools in the area, ladies have a prime selection to choose from as well.
  • 同盟或者恋爱关系
There are many students who are in relationships-either with another UNC student or with a student from another college in the area (NC State, Duke, Wake Forest, etc.). At a school with 28,000 students including the professional schools, there is definitely a chance to meet someone for a relationship, a hookup, or whatever you might be interested in. Good places to meet people are definitely bars, clubs, and frat parties, but sometimes those late-night study sessions can lead to a romance, too.
  • 着装礼仪
Carolina features a wardrobe as diverse as the student body. Students wear what they please and aren't judged for that. Fashion is definitely a means of self expression, but it doesn't take on a "hoity-toity" feel. All that being said, Chapel Hill students do clean up quite nice.

The atmosphere is different when there is a big loss or a big win. Carolina students enjoy celebrating big wins by rushing Franklin Street, jumping over fires, and having raging parties. This is definitely a rah-rah type of school.
  • 获得门票
Getting into most sporting events is relatively easy. All you need is your One Card (student ID), and you will be granted admission. Some sports with a huge fan base, such as basketball, work on a lottery system in which you enter online for the chance to win tickets. A few days before the game, those who got tickets are notified and sent an electronic copy, which must be brought to the game. For those who don't fare well in the lottery, there is a standby line on game day that students are welcome to stand in in hopes of getting a seat.

    • Tar Heel Town: Before every football game, "Tar Heel Town" is created on the quad. Kids and Chapel Hill locals who are fans of UNC football get a chance to meet and chat with Carolina football players.

Upperclassmen who live off campus have a better shot in the parking permit lottery than all other undergraduates. It is rare for a freshman to get a parking pass, and those that do are sent off-campus to park. If a student doesn't receive a parking pass in the lottery, he or she may be added to a waitlist. If the waitlist doesn't yield positive results, one may go to the Department of Public Safety to purchase any remaining permits.

  • 组织聚会
Many organizations on campus will rent out restaurants or nightclubs and advertise their parties on campus through flyers and word-of-mouth. These are some of the best parties to go to if you want to hang out with a predominantly UNC crowd. Fraternities and sororities often rent out nightclubs after rush or initiation.

  • Carolina Coffee Shop

This coffeeshop has one of the coziest atmospheres of any coffee shop on Franklin Street. During the day, breakfast is served until 2 p.m. At 9 p.m., all the elderly people are heaved out into the street, and the restaurant turns into a bar with live music and large, rowdy crowds. Because of the delicious mixed drinks and imported beers, students often come here to dance and chat the night away.

  • He's Not Here

He's Not Here is unique because most of it is outdoors, which is great for those warm summer nights, but not so cool on those wet and rainy days. This place is great for serving cheap drinks-the 32-ounce Big Blue Cup, refillable for $3, is about the cheapest you'll pay for a drink in Chapel Hill. The only drink served here is beer, and kegs are placed outside to diminish the long lines on the inside. There's always live local music on the weekends.
